Women peacemakers from North Korea, South Korea, Japan and the United States will share how women are actively working across national boundaries for peace and the reunification of Korea. On May 24, 2015 thirty women peacemakers from fifteen countries around the world crossed the De-militarized Zone from North Korea to South Korea calling for the end of Korean War that has divided three generations of Korean families. They walked with 10,000 Korean women on both sides of the DMZ and held peace symposia in Pyongyang and Seoul. Following the historic peace walk, international women peacemakers attempted to bring North and South Korean women together for a Womens Peace Summit in Bali, Indonesia to build trust, deepen understanding and explore strategies for implementation of UNSCR 1325 and a transnational peace and de-militarization campaign. Women peacemakers from North Korea, South Korea, U.S. and Japan will share the outcomes of the Womens Peace Summit. However, due to circumstances, Women Cross the DMZ met separately with each delegation.

Tue Nov 29 - Wed Nov 30: 9 a.m. - First Annual Conference of Association of Parliamentarians for Al Quds (Jerusalem)
Pullman Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey
Contact EuroPalestine Forum
On behalf of the Association of Parliamentarians for Al Quds (Jerusalem), EuroPal Forum cordially invites you to their first annual conference in Istanbul. The conference will take place on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People that is observed by the UN and will involve Members of Parliament across the world holding a discussion about Palestine. We believe that this conference, discussing an important topic of international interest, can lead to connections and further understanding between the East, West and the rest of the world. Coming together to discuss the role of parliamentarians on an international level will build bridges and open dialogues as to how to approach the injustice caused to Palestinians. The conference will be hosted by the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament and attended by a number of Speakers and hundreds of parliamentarians from around the world. It is essential for highlighting the centrality of the Palestinian cause that has received less attention in the recent years. It is also important to confirm through this conference that Jerusalem represents largely a Palestinian identity and to stand in solidarity with Palestinian members of parliament that have been detained in Israeli prisons amidst total international silence.
